What is Donald Trump's Strategy?

No matter what you think of Donald Trump as a person, you can’t deny his monumental track record in business and real estate.

What strategy does he use to win time and time again, even in a recession?

And how can you use it in your business?

Take A Wild Guess…

Before I give you the answer, let’s see if you have already guessed what it is.  Take just 30 seconds (no more!) to jot down your guess for Trump’s strategy?

Did you pick any of these?

  • He buys low and sells high
  • He uses his connections to get in on big deals
  • He strong-arms everyone to extract every last dollar from a deal
  • He is as aggressive as a pit-bull in finding opportunities
  • He uses his pull to get favorable positions on deals

If your guess was any of these, you would be right… and you would be wrong!

The Million-Dollar Question

Trump’s winning strategy isn’t in what he does; it is in the questions he asks.

Anyone can figure our how he does what he does (and I recommend that you do! Pick up No Such Thing as Over-Exposure for a great summary sans the incessant chest-pounding typical of his other books).

What sets Donald Trump apart from other commercial real estate developers is this tiny - yet immensely powerful - question he asks in every recession.

It is what directs him to pour all his resources behind a project that eventually makes a killing!

And that question is this:

How can I get rich while everyone else is afraid?

Questions Are The Answers

Don’t take the importance of this statement for granted…

In life, the people who succeed against all odds are those who can focus the power of their own minds towards accomplishing a singular goal.

And asking questions is the single most-effective way of changing and directing your focus.

Think about it for a moment…

Asking questions is how we evaluate what each event, circumstance, problem, or opportunity really means to us, and what we should do about it.

Right now, as you read this, you are asking yourself “Does this make sense? What does this mean to me?  What should I do about all this?

May be you are asking yourself “How can I use this information?

Or, perhaps you’re asking “Who the heck cares?!

Notice how each question changes your focus… It either puts your mind in a state of curiosity and resourcefulness (as with the first few questions), or completely shuts it down to all possibilities (as with the last question).

The key thing to remember is this:  the quality of your questions determines the level of your ultimate success.

If you ask lousy questions (like “Who the heck cares?!“), you’ll get louse answers… and lousy results.

Successful people, on the other hand, ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.  The get answers that empower them to know exactly what to do in any situation to produce the success they seek.

And that is precisely what Donald Trump’s question does.
